Terrence J Power, CPA (Terry) has been representing taxpayers in front of the IRS, and state and local taxing authorities, for over 40 years. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in accounting he began his career working in the tax department in the Detroit office of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells. He advanced quickly to the position of Tax Manager, overseeing a large automotive dealership practice in Detroit while simultaneously functioning as the head of the tax practice in the Ann Arbor office where he dealt with high-tech startups.
A lover of the mountains he, and his wife and two children, moved to Colorado in 1988. He purchased a CPA practice in Silverthorne, and then another practice in Frisco in 1990. The focus of the practice was on assisting small businesses and individuals with their tax and accounting needs.
Over the years Terry has prepared thousands of tax returns and successfully represented hundreds of clients before the IRS. His primary focus now is assisting taxpayers who can benefit from the IRS’ “Offer-in-Compromise” program. This program is designed to allow taxpayers a “fresh start” by settling outstanding tax debts for many times just pennies on the dollar. He takes great pride and satisfaction in his work and loves seeing his clients begin a new chapter in their lives without the stress outstanding taxes creates.
In his spare time Terry enjoys endurance sports such as cycling and Nordic skate skiing at the Masters level, travel to Mexico, cooking, and streaming movies.
